Youth Engagement Solutions recently launched a new Positive Parents, Positive Kids (PPPK) project. PPPK is a community-led, family-centred programme empowering young BAME parents to improve their family relationships and create positive examples for their children.

Alfred Ekpenyong, CEO of YES, commenting on the project said: ” We are honoured and grateful to have been awarded funding by the Department of Work and Pensions for our initiative, Positive Parents, Positive Kids.

This grant will greatly enhance our ability to support diverse families, specifically young parents and prospective parents from BAME backgrounds. The project will adopt a community partnership approach, offering a comprehensive range of proactive and responsive interventions.

Through preventative workshops, psycho-educational sessions, we aim to equip young parents with the skills, mindsets, and support needed to prevent and manage parental conflict. Our in-person, 1-2-1 and group sessions will be held in local community venues, ensuring accessibility, while online platforms will provide additional avenues for engagement. This funding will empower us to make a tangible and lasting impact on the lives of these families, fostering healthier relationships and positive outcomes for both parents and children.”
